Recipe Type: Appetizer
Cuisine: American
Serves: 1
Ingredients:
- 2 Cups Bisquick
- ⅔ Cup milk
- 1 Cup Cheddar Cheese
- ½ Tsp Garlic Powder
- ¼ Tsp Cayenne Pepper
- ¼ Tsp Old Bay Seasoning
- ¼ Cup Butter
Glaze:
- ⅓ Cup Butter
- 1 Tbsp Dried Parsley
- 1 Tsp Old Bay Seasoning
- ½ Tsp Garlic Powder
Red Lobster Box Ingredients:
- ¾ Cup Cold Water
- ½ Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 1 Package Cheddar Bay Biscuit Mix
- ⅓ Cup Butter
- 1 Pouch Garlic Herb Blend
Instructions:
- Julia attempted to make this without the Red Lobster box and it came
out OK. Here are the very simple instructions.
- Gently fold together all of the listed ingredients. Don't over stir.
- Measure ¼ cup per biscuit and form into a round biscuit. Place on
your baking sheet and brush with melted butter.
- Bake in a 475° oven for 12 minutes or until golden brown.
- Brush a bit more melted herb butter on top and serve.
- JP went with the Red Lobster box to see if it tasted like the
original Red Lobster cheddar bay biscuits that you get at the
restaurant.
- Stir together water, cheese, and biscuit mix until dough forms (do
not overmix)
- Scoop dough immediately into 8-10 portions (about ¼ cup each) and
place 2 inches apart onto prepared baking sheet.
- Bake 14-16 minutes or until golden brown on top. Melt butter in
microwave safe bowl, add garlic herb blend and stir until well
blended.
- Spoon or Brush 1 teaspoon garlic herb butter sauce on to each hot
biscuit. Serve immediately.
- Verdict: Homemade or Boxed?
- The spices from the homemade version were more exciting and more
enjoyable, although, the Red Lobster box did get the look of the real
Red Lobster cheddar Bay biscuits.
- For a healthier, less desirable method, don't eat this at all.
