Giant English Breakfast
From a famous internet video showcasing a restaurant in the UK that created an oversized English Breakfast, using ostrich eggs, we decided to attempt to do this ourselves.
You can do it as well just plan accordingly as ostrich eggs aren't always readily available for purchase.
Ingredients:
- Ostrich Egg
- Thick Cut Bacon
- Sausages
- Roma Tomatoes
- Mushrooms (portabello or white)
- Fried Bread (Baguettes)

Instructions:
- Begin with baking the bacon (keep 5 pieces aside for a next step) and cooking off the sausages. Set aside.
- Slice tomatoes in half and place in a bowl, coat with oil, salt and pepper. Pan fry on each side for 30 seconds on medium heat. Set aside.
- Clean mushrooms, take out the steps, slice, and place in a bowl and coat with oil, salt and pepper. Pan fry. Set aside.
- Preheat oven to 350 ° F.
- Add a few tablespoons of olive oil to a pan and bring a pan to medium high heat. Place a kitchen towel in a medium size bowl and set the ostrich egg inside. Use the back side of a chef knife to break open the egg. Carefully tear off the top of the shell and membrane and pour the egg into the pan. Place in the oven for about 30 minutes
- While the egg cooks fry up the bread by cooking the extra bacon(from step one) in a pan. Slice the bread at a bias in big pieces. Use the oil from the bacon as the oil to fry the bread.
- Crack open the beans and heat in a large bowl.
- Plate the Giant English breakfast with the egg in the center, surrounded by the bacon, bread, mushrooms, tomato, and the beans on the side.
- Take lot's of pictures, serve all of your friends, and enjoy the feast!!
