Below are our recipes to place into your stand for the portable Five Guys. Let us know in the comments which recipes you love and give us a heads up what copy cat recipes you'd like to see us cook up next.
All toppings are FREE so in making it at home make sure you have each and every item on hand. Most of the toppings are condiments but there is a bit of preparation that needs to be done before opening shop.
Ingredients:
- Lettuce
- Tomatoes
- Onions
- Mushrooms
- Jalepeno Peppers
- Green Peppers
Condiments
- Mayo
- Ketchup
- Mustard
- Relish
- A1 Steak Sauce
- Bar-B-Q Sauce
- Hot Sauce
Instructions: - Clean all vegetables and produce
- Slice tomatoes
- Cut down and separate Lettuce
- Slice 2 onions
- Bring a frying pan to medium high heat. Pour in a table spoon of oil. Bring to temperature then saute 1 of the onions until caramelized.
- Slice 2 boxes of Mushrooms
- Bring a frying pan to medium high heat. Pour in a table spoon of oil. Bring to temperature then saute mushrooms. Season with salt and pepper
- Cut down jalapeños
- Clean the pith and seeds out of a Green Pepper. Slice into strips
- Set the prepped food into individual containers organized for when you're ready to start grilling.
Fries
One of the MOST FAMOUS aspects of Five Guys is their fries. Known for their special spicy cajun seasoning. We heard from a reliable source that they may use McCormick Cajun Seasoning. Just incase you want to make it yourself follow our seasoning blend below.
Ingredients:
- Russet Potatoes
- Peanut Oil, for Deep Frying
- Salt
Cajun Seasoning
- 2 Tbsp Garlic Powder
- 1 1/2 Tbsp Sea Salt
- 1 Tbsp Black Pepper
- 1 Tbsp Oregano
- 1/2 Tbsp Chili Powder
- 1 Tbsp Onion Powder
- 2 Tbsp Paprika
- 1/2 Tbsp Cayenne Pepper
- 1/2 Tbsp White Pepper
Instructions:
- Cut down Large Russet Potatoes into fries
- Place them in a ice water bath for at-least one hour
- Strain and let dry in full
- Preheat your fryer or oil to 350°F
- Fry in batches for 2 1/2 minutes. Set aside
- Mix together cajun seasoning blend and put in a shaker
- When ready to serve deep fry for 3 more minutes or until golden brown
- Put fries into a large bowl. Shake on seasoning to coat the fries and serve!
Burgers
The burgers!! Finally. Known for being super duper juicy. This is easily achieved by not pressing the juices out of the burgers while grilling. Cook up your burgers by the instructions below and then add your favorite toppings that you've already prepared.
Remember the Hamburgers, Cheeseburger, Bacon Burger and the Bacon Cheeseburger are all double patties. The Littles are served with one patty per burger.
Ingredients:
- Ground Beef 80/20
- American Cheese
- Sesame Seed Hamburger Buns
- Bacon
- Parchment Paper
- Griddle
- Spatula
- Tin Foil
Instructions:
- Bake bacon and set aside to griddle up to order. Line a large baking sheet with tin foil. Place the bacon in a single layer. Put in a cool oven. Preheat to 350°F and bake for 30 minutes or until crispy and the color you like. Carefully take it out of the oven and put the bacon on a paper towel lined plate.
- Place parchment paper down on a clean surface. Take 3.5oz of beef and press it out into a round patty. Repeat.
- Heat the griddle to 350°F. Cook the beef on each side for about 3 minutes per side or until the blood pools into the center of the patty. Flip. If you want a cheeseburger add cheese now.
- During the time of cooking if you'd like bacon heat bacon on the griddle. Also toast buns on the griddle.
- Build burger on tin foil with your favorite toppings
- Close up the tin foil and serve with a side of fries!
Prepare the burger All the way with Top Bun mayo, lettuce, and tomato. Bottom Bun with Ketchup, Mustard, Caramelized Onions, and Caramelized Mushrooms.
Hot Dogs
Possibly an item you haven't tasted yet from your local Five Guys restaurant but we're here to say, yes, you should. These hot dogs change the game. Once again, totally customizable. Nothing better than the steamed bun from the tin foil wrapping in every bite.
Ingredients:
- Kosher Hot Dogs
- Hot Dog Buns
- Cheese
- Bacon
Instructions:
- Bake bacon and set aside to griddle up to order. Line a large baking sheet with tin foil. Place the bacon in a single layer. Put in a cool oven. Preheat to 350°F and bake for 30 minutes or until crispy and the color you like. Carefully take it out of the oven and put the bacon on a paper towel lined plate. (SKIP STEP IF YOU ALREADY DID THIS FOR BURGERS)
- Cut the hot dogs long ways to open up.
- Heat the griddle to 350°F. Cook the hotdog on each side for about 3 minutes per side . Flip. If you want a cheese dog add cheese now.
- During the time of cooking if you'd like bacon heat bacon. Also toast buns on the griddle.
- Build hotdog on tin foil with your favorite toppings.
- Close up the tin foil and serve with a burger and a side of fries!
Grilled Cheese Sandwich
At Five Guys carving a simple snack... the grilled cheese is here for you. It's a bit of a twist to our favorite home snack.
Ingredients:
- Sesame Seed Bun
- American Cheese
- Mayo
Instructions:
- Take a sesame seed bun and open it up. Spread mayo on each side.
- Heat the griddle to 350°F. Place the bun, mayo side down. Place cheese on each side. Griddle the bread until golden brown.
- Flip both end together to make the grilled cheese sandwich.
- Wrap up in tin foil and enjoy!
Veggie Sandwich and Cheese Veggie Sandwich
Cutting out meat? These Five Guys menu items are for you.
Ingredients:
- Sesame Seed Bun
- Caramelized Onions
- Caramelized Mushrooms
- Green Pepper
- American Cheese
- Lettuce
- Tomato
- Ketchup
- Mustard
- Mayo
Instructions:
- Heat the griddle to 350°F. Put mushrooms, onions, green pepper down and cook until steamy. If making the cheese version, add and melt cheese now.
- Toast bun.
- Build on top of tin foil. Top Bun place mayo, lettuce, and tomato. Add mustard and ketchup to the Bottom Bun. Using a large spatula carry over the veggies and place on the Bottom Bun.
- Close up the tin foil then open and mow down!
Our Favorite Secret Menu Item
Grilled Cheese Burger
This is one of the most glutinous secret menu items taking 2 grilled cheese sandwiches as the bun of your burger. Looking to pack on calories or bulk up - this burger is for you.
Ingredients:
- All Toppings Optional
- Burger Ingredients
- 2 Sesame Seed Buns
- American Cheese
Instructions:
- Make two grilled cheeses.
- Grill burgers. Add cheese.
- Build Burger as you would with grilled cheese as the top bun and the other as the bottom bun.
