DIY Mountain Dew Anti-Gravity Cake

Feeling like making something out of soda and wowing you're friends. This recipe is for you. It not only looks amazing, it's also very easy . . to make and it's tasty too

Ingredients:

  • 4 Boxes of Vanilla Cake Mix
  • 12 Eggs
  • Vegetable Oil
  • 6 Tbsp Lime Juice
  • Neon Green Food Dye
  • Red Sprinkles
  • 1 2 Liter Mountain Dew
  • 1 Small Mountain Dew Bottle for decoration
  • 2 Tubs of Cool Whip

THINGS YOU'LL NEED:

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to box instructions.
  2. In a large bowl combine cake mix, eggs, and vegetable oil as provided on the box instructions.  To that add a a cup of mountain dew, 3 tbsp of lime juice, and green food dye.  Bake until the cakes are lightly browned on top and a toothpick comes out clean.About 30 minutes per cake. Cool. 
  3. Combine cool whip with lime juice and green food dye.  Place in the fridge for a later step. 
  4. Carefully flip cakes out of the pans.  Trim off the top to make a flat cake. Evenly add water to the top of the cakes to make it easy to spread the frosting. I used Yolandas, from How To Cake It's Channel, cool tool!
  5. Take an empty small Mountain Dew bottle and put 3-5 tablespoons of frosting inside the nozzle.  With tape attach a straw to the tip. spread the cool whip mixture along the straw to the tip of the spout. Set aside on parchment paper for a later step. 
  6. Spread the frosting mixture on the cakes and stack the cakes. Carefully stick the straw into the center of the cake holding the Mountain Dew bottle up as the anti gravity topper on the cake. Then decorated more with red Sprinkles. 
  7. Present to your friends, dive in, and enjoy!
