Spaghetti Burrito, JP Vs Julia

JP and Julia go into competition once again but this time to see who can create the best Spaghetti Burrito.  Julia goes, what may seem like the easy way out, with a real tortilla & JP made his tortilla out of spaghetti, then wrapped it in meat, and then deep fried it.  You guys vote on who’s recipe is the best and if you ever make either recipe, send it to our Twitter and we’ll put it on this website!  Big thanks to our sponsor Bon Giovi for making this happen!

Ingredients:

  • ½ Cup Bon Giovi Sauce: https://www.bongiovibrand.com/
  • 1 Cup Spaghetti
  • 2 Mozzarella Cheese Slices
  • Basil Leaf
  • 1 Tbsp Parmesan Cheese
  • ¼ Tbsp Dry Parsley
  • ¼ Tbsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Melted Butter
  • 1 Extra Large Tortilla
  • Olive Oil/Pam Spray Oil

THINGS YOU'LL NEED:

Instructions:

  1. Start by bringing a salted pot of water to a boil. Once boiling, add your pasta and cook to your preference, between 9 and 12 minutes. Stain and toss in a bit of oil.
  2. In a mixing bowl take your spaghetti and your pasta sauce and toss them together.
  3. On a cutting board, lay out a large tortilla. Place two slices of mozzarella cheese down and stuff with about 1 cup of spaghetti, sprinkle on additional Parmesan cheese and a basil leaf and roll tight.
  4. Heat a pan on the stove to medium high heat. Spray both sides with spray oil and pan sear for 2 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
  5. Mix together melted butter, Parmesan, parsley and garlic powder and brush on top of your burrito
  6. Bake at 400°F for 5-10 minutes or until the top bakes on nicely
  7. Cut in half and enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • Prepared Spaghetti
  • Meatball Mixture
  • Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • Polly-O String Cheese
  • Egg Wash
  • Seasoned Flour
  • Italian Breadcrumbs
  • Bongiovi Sauce: https://www.bongiovibrand.com/

Meatball Recipe:

  • 1 Pound Ground Beef
  • 1 Pound Italian Sausage
  • ⅓ Cup Bread Crumbs
  • ½ Cup Milk
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 Medium Onion Diced
  • Fresh Chopped Parsley
  • 3 Cloves Garlic
  • 1 tsp Black Pepperr
  • ½ tsp Red Pepper Flakes
  • ⅓ Cup Grated Cheese

THINGS YOU'LL NEED:

Instructions:

  1. Saute your onions and mix all the meatball ingredients together.
  2. Form your meat around Polly-O String cheese.
  3. Grill your meat log until browned on all sides.
  4. Mix your prepared spaghetti with shredded mozzarella cheese and Bongiovi sauce until the consistency is cheesy and clingy.
  5. Lay this down on parchment paper and roll it out flat like a tortilla.
  6. Place your meat log on top like it was a tortilla and then roll the spaghetti around it using the parchment paper to aid.
  7. Seal up the entire log and place it into a loaf pan to freeze.
  8. Once it has firmed up you can now coat it in a seasoned flour, dipped in egg wash and covered in seasoned breadcrumbs.
  9. Place directly into a 365°F deep fryer for roughly 10 minutes.
  10. Finish in the oven at 400°F for an additional 30 minutes.
  11. Take out and cut in half. You will now see why JP won this versus.
