The Impossible Burger, now known as the Impossible Burger 2.0, has sparked a plant based burger trend. One of their goals is to convert meat eaters into not meat eaters. These burgers do not have any beef but they perfectly resemble and taste like a beef burger. Since the patty has been released other brands such as Beyond Meet have taken to the grocery stores. Even Carl's Jr. is offering a beyond beef burger for a limited time. We have a feeling they are going to be everywhere soon and needed to know what was in it. So we head to the test kitchen to attempt to make our own non meat dish that tastes just like meat.

Instructions:
- You are going to need 4 components of the recipe including the Protein, the flavor/aroma, a binder, and a fat. Start with spreading 1 cup of coconut oil in a thin layer and place in the freezer for 30 minutes. Then break up the protein, in this case we are using a high protein soy product called tempeh. Break this up roughly in a large bowl and set aside.
- For the flavor/aroma strain the beet juice from the can of beats. Set the beats aside for a different recipe. Measure 1 cup of juice and add a few drops of liquid iron. This is a vegan product that will give the meaty component. Do not put too much of this in your recipe.
- In a separate bowl mix together the binder ingredients including vegetable protein, water, nutritional yeast, salt, and garlic powder.
- Take oil out of the freezer and chop up. Pour 1/2 cup of the flavor into the protein. Add the binder mix well. Then add the fat, about 20%.
- Press the non meat beef into patties. Bring a pan to medium high heat and pan fry on both sides. Add cheese.
- Build just like any other burger: start with the bottom bun, mayo, lettuce, tomato, burger, and top bun. You can also use this mixture for other beef substitutions such as meat balls, skewers, and sloppy joes.
